O-SPEC Surveys – Melbourne
Swanson Surveying has recently completed and had approved by the responsible authorities, as-built surveys of Public Open Space areas – known as O-SPEC Surveys – in the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne. O-SPEC is part of the A-SPEC data transfer sharing specification that allows consultants to provide data to authorities like Councils on all manner of infrastructure assets in a streamlined and consistent manner for inclusion in their Geographic Information System (GIS). O-SPEC details the specific requirements and attributes relating to assets within Open Space and Recreational Reserves and is used as a reference for the supply of As Constructed digital data.
O-SPEC surveys are often required by Councils in Melbourne as a condition of a planning permit and are submitted at the completion of a land development project (or at the end of bonded landscaping works periods) before final compliance is issued or landscaping bonds are returned to the developer. This means that the delivery of O-SPEC surveys in a timely, efficient and accurate manner can be critical to ensuring that there are no holdups with compliance or the return of substantial financial bonds.
Swanson Surveying has developed proprietary systems and software to deliver O-SPEC Surveys in a timely and cost-effective manner and welcomes the opportunity to discuss your next project with you.
